What To Expect From Your Personalized Portrait Session
During our initial conversation we can discuss the wide variety of services I offer and answer any questions that you may have. This can be done in person at a studio consultation (free), by phone, Facebook message, or Email. I have even booked entirely by text message before. Whatever form of communication you are most comfortable with works for me.
Here's what I will need to know:
The Photo Session
Typically, a family portrait session will last about an hour (of course, this can sometimes depend on the attention spans of children)
Newborn sessions will allow plenty of time for changing, loving, cuddling, etc. It is best to do these in the first two weeks after your baby is born, due to the possible onset of tummy troubles and newborn acne at around 2-3 weeks. They are also extra sleepy at this age and easier to pose! Please contact me before your due date to ensure that I have an ideal time slot available.
I will do everything that I can to make your child(ren) feel at home and help them to have fun!
During the session I will photograph the entire family and do several combinations of moms/dads/children, as well as individual portraits of each family member, as desired. I love hearing your thoughts and ideas, because no one knows your family like you do, and my goal is to capture the personality of each individual person.
I encourage you to be yourselves, and your kids to do the same. At times I will ask you to look at the camera, but at other times I may just try to capture the moments as they play out. I have a relaxed style and encourage children to do what comes naturally. When they are having fun, the portrait shows it! For young children it is always a good idea to bring along their favorite treats or snuggables.
I have a comfortable and professional studio located just North of the Four-Way Stop in Grayville, Illinois. I have a large variety of backdrops readily available, along with Chroma-Key Green Screen technology which enables me to use thousands of digital backdrops.
Keep in mind that sometimes the best locations for family shoots are familiar locations, and in warm months I am always willing to travel to your favorite park or outdoor spot. These make for fantastic pictures, as there is no artificial lighting that works nearly as well as the lighting the Man upstairs gave us.
Graduation sessions, Engagement sessions and Anniversary sessions can take place anywhere, especially during the warmer months.
Graduation sessions can take from 2-4 hours and involve as many changes of clothes and locations as you like. I encourage you to contact me for personalized pricing on these sessions.
I offer discounts for combining engagement sessions and weddings; Repeat anniversary and birthday sessions are discounted too.

After your Photo Session
I will edit your session, saving only the top images, and omit those with closed eyes and etc. These will be displayed online in a portrait gallery for you to review and select your favorites. Typical Gallery Posting will occur within 2 weeks. Senior, Wedding or Specialty Sessions could take from 3-6 weeks for completion. I encourage you to also come to the studio before or when ordering, so you can see a high-quality preview of your prints, as ones uploaded sometimes lose a little bit of their 'luster'. I will leave all photos within your gallery online for 90 days, in which time you and other family members may order. After that time I may reduce the size of the gallery, or remove it completely.
Print orders will be received by you within 2-3 weeks.
